Memory Game w/ Present Progressive Tense
« on: May 02, 2014, 11:57:15 AM »
I haven't tried this in my middle school classes yet, but I will shortly. It will probably take up the whole class. This file also includes a review of present progressive as well as one practice round for the game.

RULES:
(1) Students look at pictures for 30 seconds. They do NOT write.
(2) After 30 seconds, they must write what they remember in the picture for 2 minutes and use the present progressive tense.
(3) The students with the most sentences win.

The functionality of this PowerPoint is a bit clunky, but you will be fine once you get the hang of it. Rehearse if you can.

Best,

Todd

Update:

One of my colleagues tried this and made one minor suggestion for me that I have since integrated into the revised version (see attached).

This new version now has an accompanying photo on each "What did you write" slide, so that the students can visually check to see if they are correct.

That's about it.

Hey Todd,
That seems really interesting. Thanks for the posting. Unfortunately my high school students are nowhere in the ballpark of actually making sentences, so I am going to swipe your PPT and turn it into a "what did you see?" and have them write down the nouns that they saw. I have another class that might be able to do it, but we will see. ;D

Hi Tony,

Thanks for the reply. And glad you like/are intrigued by the PowerPoint and can make use of it with your own students. Am very curious to see how you tweak it for nouns. Keep me posted!
