Sports, Extreme Sports, Bomb Game (2classes)
« on: April 08, 2011, 09:08:06 AM »
I'm at an all-boys middle school, so these sports lessons really caught their eye.

The base of the lesson is from somewhere on waygook (can't find it now...), but I've altered it considerably, with lots of gifs, vocabulary, and example sentences.

Lesson "4" - new sports
Curling, Rugby, American Football + videos
N.B. The  "Can you come to my Superbowl party" bit is from the Orr textbook so you can omit that if you don't use that text.

Lesson "5" - extreme sports
Air/Land/Water sports + videos

Lesson "5" - Girls Generation bomb game

Thank you for sharing this fantastic lesson musicboy! All the classes I've taught this lesson to have really enjoyed it, especialy the K-pop themed bomb game!

Here's my version of your lesson. I edited the powerpoint and bomb game so that it can be taught as one single lesson that focuses on just extreme sports. I changed and added some videos too. I also made a handout, but in a few classes I didn't have time to do the whole handout as well as the bomb game. The powepoint takes about 20-30 minutes and the bomb game takes about 15-20 minutes, so you could try just page one of the handout for low level classes, and page two of the handout for medium and high level classes. Or you could do the powerpoint and handout in one lesson, then do a review and the bomb game in a second lesson. But if you need an easy no-prep, no-handout class, teach the powerpoint then do the bomb game, and if there's a few minutes left at the end then let the winning team choose a song to play on Youtube. Happy teaching! :-)
