I have no textbook to go off of. My school tells me to "prepare a cultural lesson" every week. I give a PPT (elicit answers from the students with the slides) and show a couple of short YouTube clips (if there is a "." next to the title of the slide it's a link). I also have info gap worksheets. I give them the word searches last as a reward (even the non-participative students seem to enjoy these).
I try to make the answers to the info gap questions as obvious as possible. I want the students to recognize the words and spell them out correctly.
Having said that, I teach in a lower income area. Kids at my school who attend hagwons are the exception, not the rule. If these lessons are too low level for your 5th graders maybe they'll work for your 4th graders.
