House Lesson
« on: April 08, 2011, 03:50:35 PM »
I did a lesson in my after school class about:

Rooms in the house
Objects in those rooms

One or two of these are other people's slideshows that I have taken and changed a bit.

Rooms in a house
« Reply #2 on: April 11, 2011, 01:03:34 PM »
I am teaching my kids (grade 3,4) the different rooms in a house this week i.e. living room, kitchen, bedroom, bathroom etc.

I will start by presenting the different rooms in a powerpoint presentation as well as the different objects in each room e.g. bed in bedroom.

After the presentation, I will have a competition where the kids must guess which room I am in based on the objects in the room. E.g. There is a fridge in this room.

I have found that the kids enjoy competition games so I will award points for first person to guess right and then at end the person with the most points will win some candy.

Hey. I'm thinking of teaching this to my kids and I wanted to ask, did you ever run into any roadblocks while trying to teach them rooms? Or is this just strictly vocab teaching?
