I played a Cops and Robbers game, but the original idea came from "Heads Down, Thumbs Up."
1. Teacher calls "Heads down, thumbs up." Students cover their faces and put a thumb out.
2. Teacher initially chooses 4 "Cops" by tapping them on the shoulder, and 7 robbers named "Andy" by touching their thumbs. The student with their thumb tapped puts down their thumb in their palm to indicate they are chosen.
3. Teacher calls "Heads up, seven up." Teacher then asks the 4 Cops to come to the front and "Find Andy."
4. Students go around and ask, "What's your name?" to individual students. Students sitting down respond either by saying, "I'm ___. Nice to meet you" OR "I'm Andy," which is usually followed with "Aww~" and shouts of joy.
5. The 7 Andy's wait at the front of class until everyone is found [or you can give them a time limit such as 3 min].
6. A new round starts when Teacher again calls "Heads down, thumbs up," and this time, the 7 former Andy's get to pick the next 7 Andy's by tapping one of their classmates' thumbs. The teacher again chooses 4 "Cops" by tapping them on the shoulder.
