Post-exam material if anyone is looking for something. Earlier this week, I was asked by a student if i've seen the "new" Sailor Moon. After some due deligence on the net, i found the first episode (apparently a reboot of the series that premiered this past weekend) along with korean subs. Since it's only 20 minutes long, i'll likely add a ppt with an activity (solar system-related not sure yet).

Keep in mind once you download the episode and subs, you'll need to place them in the same folder for it to work (English subs will appear if the korean subtitle file is removed/renamed). I'm planning to show this next week since most of my elementary kids are familiar with the anime. Enjoy!

I've heard the the new series will strictly follow the manga so you might want to preview the episodes before showing them. Some schools might not be cool with the lgbt parts of the show. Check with a co-teacher first.

If you are just showing the first episode, it should be fine though, since it's clean. (though, showing a Japanese show in an English class..? Why not show the dubbed English version of the old series instead?)

The original series (200 eps and the movies) is getting a re-release and a brand new dub as well.

The original (highly edited for violence, nudity and lesbians) english dub should also be floating around somewhere if you wanted it.

I try to hunt down english dubs of suitable shows for my kids. A lot of them watch anime subbed in Korean, so it's a nice novelty to see their favorites in english. Some shows have fandubs available too.
