Does exactly what it says on the tin while being super simple and visually pleasing.
I've colour coded key verbs and nouns. Good to run through them before you start the lesson (once the students start making the ice cream, nothing can stop them!).
I chose to show the verbs and ingredients first, and then see if they can guess what we'll be making, but you could easily switch it around.
Note. You will need A LOT of ice, my recipe is a guide...you can get away with less ice if you really need to, but the best ice cream needs a lot of it (as much as you can get), otherwise you just end up with slushy milk (which will still be delicious). Also, don't be shy with the salt. Buy a cheap sack of the stuff and go nuts with it.
Cream is optional, but it's makes the ice cream better and helps turn the mix into ice cream sooner.
Make sure the kid wrap the bags really well in newspaper before they start shaking. This both reduces mess and keeps the bags insulated and SUPER cool.
Make sure to have cleaning supplies on hand, this can get very messy!
Mop the floor when you're finished. The resulting salt water will leave big salt crystal stains when it dries.
Have fun.
If anyone makes a worksheet for this, please post it.
