(help!) Elementary School Stories for Reading over Speakers

Hey all :)

I've just been informed that in a few days I'll have to read "An English story" (2-3mins) over the school speakers for morning announcements. Beyond say, the 3 little pigs, I have no idea where to start :P Was wondering if anyone here had to do anything similar and if so, how in the name of it all did you go about it?
