I love using this warm-up game to randomly review vocabulary at the start of classes.
Basically, the cards are passed out to the class. Each student gets one (or more if it's a small class). The cards follow this format : "I have (sickness), who has (different sickness).
So for example, It would go like this:
- Teacher: "I have the first card, who has a headache?
- Student 1: "I have a headache, who has a stomachache?"
- Student 2: "I have a Stomachache, who has an earache?"
- Student 3: "I have an earache, who has a backache?"
And so on....
ALL students are forced to listen for when their card is called, or be prepared to get yelled at by their peers haha. They are reading, listening, and speaking throughout this warm-up. I usually let them do 1 practice round, and then bring out a timer to see how fast they can get through all of the cards. It gets very competitive as you can imagine. Especially when I tell classes how fast other classes were able to finish in.
I made the cards myself, but the monkey pictures I used do not belong to me. I found them in another PPT here on Waygook, but I can't remember where (sorry
)
Just print and cut. I printed them on thick cardboard paper so they would last longer
