Public School: New text review?
« on: October 10, 2014, 04:02:46 PM »
So my co-teacher wanted me to take a gander at all the new textbooks for the next year. GEPIK will be scrapping the old ones. I am suppose to review each one, and try and give my opinion on which one I think is the best. Has anyone else been asked this?

I have 4/5 books for each grade (elementary). YBM, the same company as before, and some other one.

I am glancing through them, and to tell you the truth, if you were to swap out any pages from any of the books and mix them, I wouldn't be able to tell what book it was from. They're that similar.

They all seem to be the exact same format as this years books anyway, just updated pictures...

Limited English use, games that aren't practical, very minimal English writing, and just the typical repeat the same dialogue over and over stuff. All the books have the same EXACT layout, the different units are even titles the same: look and say, read and write, etc...

What am I suppose to say? LOL

Opinions, thoughts?

"I believe this textbook has the superior spelling, grammar, reading and speaking activities, I believe it will provide an excellent all round English education experience to the students in an engaging and motivational fashion.  I believe it is the most entertaining and educational of the choices and I am happy to recommend it for the upcoming school year."

"We chose the other one"

"oh...ok that's cool too"
