Interested in Joining My Project??
« on: October 15, 2014, 06:06:55 PM »
Hello all~~

I'm looking for a small group to enter into a project with me. I want to do a fun treasure hunt style class for 3rd and 4th grade. (천재교육: 함순애, 이양순, 이동환, 최정혜,etc. 2024/08/30)

Then a fun not necessarily murder mystery class with 5th and 6th grade. (천재교육: 함순애, 이양순,김현아, 안소연, Frances Sohn. 2024/08/19)

The idea is that we'd make a lesson plan and materials to cover a 2 part lesson. (two 40min classes) That would be a big review of about three lessons. Of course we'd share all materials and such. We'd need to make dialogues, riddles, and mini-games. Since this takes a lot of work, I'm requesting help. It should be based off of the textbooks so it can be used in class or after school.

Send me a PM with your email address, grades that you can help with, and Kakao ID.

I'd like to start working on it by November 3rd. I'm hoping it's finished by the time the kids are done with exams and crying for games and movies.

I may have tried to gain interest in the wrong way. When I said "based on the book" I meant the certain phrases of each theme. I'm pretty sure that all of the textbooks are quite similar in the expressions that are taught.

For example, Simple commands= Sit here please. Touch here please. Sit down please.

If your book is radically different then, it wouldn't work. However, if your book includes 3/4ths of the same minus/plus one or two things, I'm sure we could compromise on what to include in the game.

Again, Let me know so that we could hopefully start by November 3rd.

Thanks for reading.

This sounds like an interesting project, but I think you might want to post your textbook.  There are some pretty big differences between the textbooks.

For example I teach both elementary and middle schools.  My elementary school grade 4 students had a chapter focused on the phrase "Hows the weather? It's _______".  But my middle school grade 1 textbook also had a chapter focused on the phrase "How's the weather? It's ____ ".  So it's not just a matter of modifying "Sit here please" to "Please sit", it's also a question of who learns what and when.

I did find one elementary-level Whodunit mystery activity for my textbook here:  http://www.waygook.org/index.php/topic,32036.msg395936.html#msg395936

Ultimately I decided against using it in my classroom because I felt that it would be too much teacher talking time.  But maybe it will help you prepare your materials :)
