A brief overview of Scandinavian countries with some nice pictures and scenery.  The kids were actually more curious and interested than I expected.  Geography and history doesn't usually grab them

This looks great! Thanks for sharing. This is my heritage, and students always ask about my hair ('teacher, real hair?'). Maybe I'll be able to share with them a little. Also nice it isn't another English speaking country/region. I feel they have had that a lot.

I may cut out the prison bit. Tech HS don't want them to idolize it too much....

Thanks!

Visually, this PPT is amazing! I think I'm going to use it for after exams. I'm not too familiar with many of the Scandanavian countries, do you think you could give us a rundown of your train of thought for the later slides, starting around the fjords?

Yeah, I didn't realize that was Brevik in the suit and tie.  I just googled "Blonde Scandinavians" and took some normal-looking people.  You have to admit the guy looks normal.  For those not aware (I wasn't) he is the balding guy in the tie in the slide that says that Scandinavians are usually blond and light-skinned.

The scenic photos at the end sparked a discussion.  I was hoping they would be visually impressive enough to get the kids talking, (they did.)  They liked the volcanoes and  how clean everything looked.  I teach in one of the most polluted cities in China, so a look at Copenhagen is kind of eye-opening for them.  It was a good lesson.
