« on: July 27, 2009, 02:58:54 pm »
Got this from another teacher and made some changes to include a hangman game that can be played online by 2 teams, and also a puzzle.

Thanks to everyone who has posted materials here.

Here's a simple listening activity for lesson one that the students seem to like. There are two word files below. Both have words from the dialogue in the listening portion of lesson one. The words in the first file are meant to be cut into cards; the second file is meant to be posted on the screen for students to review the words before beginning the activity.  Hand out one card to each student. When they hear that word as the dialogue plays, they quickly stand up and sit down (some words appear more than once). The students always ask to do it again, and it can be stretched out by having them switch cards with their partners.

Here's a modified bomb game and a word search. I'm using these for period 4.

Here are my 'lesson plans' / materials for this unit. Sorry the lesson plans aren't in a very good format, my school is happy for me to just have them as notes for myself.

Sorry for any duplication of materials borrowed from other people on waygook, and thanks for originally posting them!

Here's a power-point I created with some of the key questions and dialogue from Lesson 1.

I posted it in two formats.  Hope it helps!

Here is a link for a song entitled "I Have a Headache" which can be used for Lesson 1, Period 2.

The lyrics are included as a Microsoft Word document.

I've updated trader's puzzle PPt from the old Chapter 1 discussion.  The PPt now includes numbers next to the pictures and I've created a simple worksheet so students can guess which expression the pictures correspond to.

@annateacher5: Thanks for the Headache song. It's funny and could be a good motivational video to start a class!

This is my first time uploading. I've stolen plenty but I thought it was time to give something back.

I do not have the new book yet but the vocab seems to be the same and all of the following can be changed to suit new vocab if necessary. Does anyone know if the new cd has the same role plays or not?

First time uploading too.

What is your name bingo.

Maybe a good icebreaker?

Instructions: (also in the file)

Instructions:

1.   Go around the class and ask your classmates for their names. (in ENGLISH!).
-   What is your name?
               - My name is ___________.
2.   Put the names in any of the squares.
3.   Keep asking until you fill up the board. (You will need to ask 16 classmates.)
4.   The teacher will call out a number. The student with that number will stand up and answer the teacher’s question. (What is your name?) If you have that name on one of your squares, you can put a marker on there.
5.   Once you have made a line (horizontal, vertical, or diagonal) on your bingo card, raise your hand and say “BINGO!”
