Fill in the blank story time and presentation in pairs for my 6th graders who hate role play.  Also a lesson 2 wordsearch while they wait for others to finish presenting to me.

I hope others are still using this book!  Here's the second of my art & culture PPTs for pd 5's "Story and Great Art." Like I mentioned in L1, I stole KTeacher's Who/What/When/Where concept and expanded on it.

In this lesson we'll talk about Brueghel/the painting, I'll explain the concept of "genre painting" in simple terms, and then we'll learn about the Netherlands.  Obviously talking about the Netherlands now in relation to Brueghel is a little anachronistic but maybe it will connect the art to a geographical location, at least?

Instead of having them do the roleplay I'm going to have them write a story about another Brueghel painting, which is in the PPT.

Hey guys! so here is a low level of dyslexia worksheet set.  basically:

1&2: First two sheets are for them to put in their workbooks. It uses different colors to help dyslexic students differentiate.  Also includes the Korean and English as well as a picture.  Dyslexic students benefit from having something to refer back to (and so do Low level students)

3-8: Laminate. (cut out individual words and letters at the bottom.  students with severe dyslexia can have issues with fine motor skills like writing, so it is typically better to not focus on their penmanship and use different ways to help them remember words.  here they can trace, draw, and then you can mix up the letters and they can "make" the word.  The letters are in different colors again, so they can differentiate more easily.

9-11: laminate and cut out.  Say a sentence, and have the student make the sentence. again this uses different colors and pictures to help Low level and dyslexic students.

12: Laminate and cut out.  This is just an easy matching.  The English word has a picture with it.  Just another way to let the low level or dyslexic student practice.

13-15: Cut on the horizontal line, fold on the vertical line, and laminate. boom. Flash cards.
Students with dyslexia benefit from repetition.

16&17: Laminate. Just writing practice. The lines are bigger so it's easier to see. I give my dyslexic student different colored markers to write in a different color for every line if he wants etc.

I know there is a lot of laminating, I just like to be able to reuse for multiple classes and for the matching etc, it's nice to have them laminated in case a low level or a student with a disability gets frustrated and crumples the paper...lamination is more difficult to crumple ^^

here is the bang game and bang game instruction ppt.

I made it for period 4, and then my coteacher changed her mind and decided she wanted to use it for open class for the next lesson.  BUTTT since I already have this one made, all you have to do is print and cut enough decks.

enjoy! (reading and speaking game)

Blinking English/Korean words. Tell the students to speak Korean when they see an English word and speak English when they see a Korean word    I use at the start and end of class. Only takes a few minutes.

Kimchi reading game.

I discovered today that this game can be played two ways. First - Kimchi is bad - if there are two kimchi's then two students sit down. (and thus I made the Kimchi sold out slides)

or

Second - Kimchi is good - the students who read kimchi are safe, it's the one student behind the last kimchi that must sit down. (if you do this way then I recommend removing the Kimchi is sold out)
