Elimination game adapted from some one else's template, so cheers!

Pretty self explanatory.

*I have 15 students in 5th so this has 14 "X"'s - depending on your class size you may want to add more slides

Korean Sadari game (Ladder game)

This is played in pairs as a speaking practice for lesson 2.

However, the words and sentences can be changed up for lesson in the future.

Happy teaching

Thanks to the original poster. Here is a modified version to include all the key expressions and accommodate my larger class size, there are 28 "X" - eliminations. Hope someone finds it useful. This game could also be used for review.  ;D

For  storypot, I did a madlibs activity that went over well.

The directions in the PPT should be pretty self explanatory, but basically the class makes a chart with new words to substitute the names, Sunday, and activities. Then in pairs they roll dice to make a new story (some were pretty funny). They practiced with their partner than presented the new story to the class. Including reading and watching the storypot in the book, it took about 35 minutes and then we played the elimination game (with 6 groups, not individually) for the last 5 minutes.

Attachment 1: My PPT introduction to the Lesson's vocab.

Attachment 2: Dialogue Matching Game. Find your partner by asking  "Who's ___ is this?" they reply "It's mine/ It's not mine"  Usually give them a sticker when the pairs come to me. It's very fun. :) Credit to original template creator.

Attachment 3: Cards for said matching game.

Attachment 4:  Section 3 PPT Review of vocab with a couple of funny pictures, and a roleplay activity- one student asks "Who's __ is this?" other student says "It's not mine, it's ___'s"

Attachment 5:  Information desk roleplay activity I created, they have to ask who owns whatever item they're holding, and move to the corresponding place on the board. Then I ask aloud "Who's __ is this?" PPT is self-explanatory. **Uses the Attachment 3 cards.

Attachment 6: Guessing vocab review for Section 6. Ball activity- throw the ball to a student, ask "Who's __ is this?" They say "It's not mine, it's..." and pick another student to throw the ball to.

Situation: Due to my coteacher wanting to prepare her students with an open class I ended up teaching all of lesson 2 myself, a period per week without a working CD.

My materials

Period 5 and 6 powerpoints. Directly from the book but as mentioned before the CD in the classroom didn't work.
Word Lotto Game
Worksheet (downloaded from the CD)
Roleplay: I used this as a speaking test since YBM doesn't consider speaking important.
The first version is just the roleplay where students fill in the blanks with their names and the appropriate items and activities (there are 4 papers so you can print 4 to one page). The second version I placed on the screen to show the instructions.

Finally I am attaching a video worksheet as an example of what you can do when making your own videos. Because NONE of the videos on the CD worked I made my own with my friends. I had the students listen, fill in the blanks, repeat the lines and for one of them, I played it on mute and asked the students to guess what they were saying as review. I am not attaching the videos because they have my friends in them and I wouldn't imagine theywant their faces all over Korean classrooms. PM me if you want to know how I made the videos

So this is what I made for this topic.

Everything is explained in the ppt.

I've only included the games in the ppt but they are simple and you can even run through the rules step-by-step with the first round of the games. This means the students are participating and watching the game along with listening to the rules, rather than listening to Teacher Talk and forgetting half of it before the first round.

I made a 'Lost and Found' box to get them interested when they come into the class. It is to get them thinking......"Whose is this hat/watch/glasses?", "Why is there a box here?", "What is 'Lost and Found?'"

Credit to those who I got the games from, just tweeked them a little.

1- Who's puppy is it? song on youtube (picture hyperlinked)
2 - Head down thumbs up game
3 - Story 1
4 - Mystery item game
5 - simple write up summary at the end (good for checking understanding and collecting homework set by you or your CT)

This is a writing worksheet and a writing game.  Teacher will ask a question based on the slide.  Students should write the answer in a complete sentence.  For example:

Slide 1:  Teacher: "Whose picture is this?" Then students choose an answer and write a sentence. Ex: "It's Bona's Dad's picture."

Then show the correct answer.  Students can get 1 point for writing the correct answer.  I wrote the question to be asked in the memo section of the slide if you need it.  It worked really well. I hope it helps :)

The Donald Duck activity was great, but have you watched to the end of the episode?! Definitely needs to carry a casual racism warning! The activity only needs the first few mins of the episode anyway, just for future reference to other teachers.

This Kpop Bomb game was created by other waygook members, but I edited them by changing the songs and pictures. I took forever to pick and change the songs! I hope your kids like it.

This game would be good to play with this chapter, but would also be good to play at anytime! I'm sure your kids will enjoy it as they're all new kpop songs.

Download the ppt I attached. I attached the songs but I'm not sure if they'll play without the mp3 files. If they don't, I have them on my google drive:

Wheel of Fortune.
The scoreboard doesn't work, so you'll need to write the scores on a board.

*NOTE: DO NOT SAVE the file after playing. Otherwise, the answer will be visible the next time you launch the file.

Probably too late this year but maybe someone can use it next year. I find that it's helpful to go over the stories and ask the students to translate each line of dialogue (after watching the video once). I don't like the way it's set up in the textbooks so I made some ppts. I did it for Story 1, 2, and Story Pot but Story 1 is on my other computer. I'll update this if I remember at that school.

Hi! I know it's been a while since anyone has added anything to this, so I figured I'd add a little bit of new material.

This is a pass the ball game that my students LOVED (and they don't seem to much like anything I've done so far). I used current kpop (based on what songs/groups I know my students like) and a few Disney or English songs.

The first few slides are more of a concept review emphasizing the difference between mine and yours, adding  's for possession, and saying it's not someone's.

After the game starts, the first few questions are fairly simple where the students just have to say "It's _____'s ____." after a little bit the students have to start replying with things like "It's not ____'s ____." or even fill in missing words.

I started off primarily using book characters, but threw in a few different ones at the end for fun.

As I said, my students loved it, so maybe yours will too!

EDIT:
I saw in the thread for the old book that there's a mad lib game for this chapter - I liked the idea of it, so I created a new one that's similar, but a little more focused on the newer vocab and key phrases. I've also attached that! I'm planning on using this for the 4th period read and write kind of section.
