For this lesson, I am going to ask my students to write and present a product review. To get them started, I will show this video from Eat Your Kimchi! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5U0FN7ROW3s. Together we fill fill out a review on the board. This is also the example on the worksheet. Then, they will think of one product they LOVE and write a review. Next class they will bring in their item and give a short presentation. Day one went well, let's hope they remember to actually bring in a product next class!

8-2 Key vocab: Make sure you... Make sure you don't...

I started the lesson with a Word Wall (I am doing one every month), then reviewed the previous lesson. They learned some tricky words during 8-1, so I want to see if they remember 'audience' and 'competitors.'

We will practice giving suggestions/advice with "Make sure you (don't)" and some random situations. After that, we will play a kind of "Match Game" with white boards. It works just like the old TV show: if their sentence matches mine, they win points.

Now that they have a good understanding of the sentence structure, I will give each group a strip of paper with a random situation on it. I'll give them 5 minutes, then one student (the leader) will announce their situation and each group mate will give ONE suggestion to him/her. Each group will present and hopefully that will take me to the end of class, hah.

Pt. 1 -  Key Expressions and has pictures/video clips where I have the students guess the product placement.
YBM Official PPT - English story with Korean translation, I believe it covers the Lesson 8 "Before You Begin" page. My CT usually does that with the class but it's useful if you have to teach that page.

Listen and speak 1 for unit 8. bingo went over 2 lessons. it worked best if they fill in the board in pairs, then play against another pair (total 4 students working together). That way everyone is practicing the dialogue a lot and they don't lose interest. I put one dialogue sheet on the table per 4 people (it was also on the PPT). Lesson 2 + 3 (listen and speak 2 + into the conversation) to follow, it was too large to fit in one post.
