APRIL FOOLS USING KEY EXPRESSIONS!!

"How do you say____ in _____?" two questions.

Last question is "How do you say 만우절 in English?"  We say APRIL FOOLS! hehehehehe.

Tell your kids they have a spot (surprise) test, whip out the ppt, and have a good laugh!!!

Co-teacher fixed some of the mistakes in the Korean translation of the intro posted previously and I added some animations.
Sleeping Lions is a little nicer than elephants because of the built in timer. :)
And finally, a sudoku using some of the new words for the chapter.

Here's a Mission Impossible themed writing game.... the students have 15 seconds to unscramble some words and 20 seconds to unscramble sentences.

For the Rearranging Reading ppt, I had the students look at each slide and read all of the sentences and then I asked for someone to read them back in the right order.  The translation info gap activity was pretty difficult for my students.  I wouldn't recommend trying to use it until the end of the chapter and even then only if your students are fairly high level.  I guess someone could modify it to make it easier/better/simpler if they wanted to.

Basic key expressions and some awesome comics (Comic sounds in other languages) I used for my other textbook last year. Kids love them - I included a large selection, I'd edit it down quite a lot - it's more fun than productive so just choose a few and use them to get the kids interested at the beginning.

thank you so much for these! i broke them up into different categories and used them as warm-ups for each period of this lesson. they were fun to talk about with the students. they especially liked "cock-a-doodle-doo", lol.

I HAVE DELETED THIS LESSON AS IT IS BEING MONIIZED AGAINST THE CONTENT CREATOR'S WISHES.

I very much welcome an open source system and am EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED with the sites decision to charge for content. I uploaded content with the understanding that it would be used freely by other teachers and do not agree with it being monetized without my consent. Due to this change I have felt it best to remove my work.

Thank you for all those who have shared in the past and I hope the site will retract its new policy and return to an open community-led system.

This lesson was a little tough. But I managed to come up with some games and activities my students really appreciated!

Period 1 - I did a Flick Game for students to practice the expressions: How do you say "_____" in (language)? We say "_____." Print the third slide of the attached Flick Game template. Be free to edit it.

Period 5 - Review vocabulary with a really cool Mario template - Mario runs and hits the ? block at the end of the expression to reveal the answer "We say '___.'"

Then Konglish Lesson with Apeach and Ryan explaining the difference between HOT DOG and CORN DOG. I do a information relay game. The worksheet is attached as well. If there's time, you can play connect 4 which is also provided.

Enjoy!

Here are all my materials. Most of them are taken from this site and adapted, so all credit to the original creators! I also used different lessons with different classes, so some of the activities were repeated. All the translations were checked and confirmed by a Native Korean speaker!
