I made a worksheet for this Chapter

It includes some phonics for the -er sound. (-ir, -er, -ur) There is no way to write it phonetically in Korean.

For the chant: The students generally don't like the chant. However, I think they benefit from hearing the words over and over again. Especially, the weaker students.

So, I came up with this idea.

We listen to the chant one time (lots of groaning as they really don't like it).
Then, I pass out the attached (copied and cut for individuals to work on) lyric sheet. We listen to the chant again, and the students circle the word that is incorrect. We listen again and the students write the correct word, and then we listen one last time to check our answers.

I've found that usually by the last listen the kids are beginning to sing the chant.

Did the Cowboy game today. It was hugely successful! Kids loved it. I made separate games and with each game getting more difficult. First game emphasized the key vocabulary and expressions; in the second game, the expressions were longer and slightly deviated from the key expressions; and the third game the expressions and words were scrambled or silly. Great fun!
