Lesson 4-1
Introduction lesson covering Key Words and Expressions in both English and Korean. Ppt and worksheet.
Word Shark Hangman game. Your usual hangman, just with sharks. Reviews some of the new vocabulary.
Lesson 4-2
Disappearing dialogue for memorization practice. (from Look & Say)
Lesson 4-3
Connect 4 game in pairs. I printed out the blank boards and put them in a plastic sleeve to be reused. I showed my students how the game works by using the demo ppt (Just for the basic mechanics of the game). I thought the demo was a cleaner version of the game. You can also just use the example one from the main ppt to explain the game.
Lesson 4-5
Dragon Hunt. Things you need: animal mask (I used a dragon, but you can do any animal) and a blindfold. Each team selects one person to be blindfolded. After they have been blindfolded, the teacher chooses a random student to wear the dragon mask. The students on the blindfolded team have to direct the blindfolded student to the dragon mask using only English (no Korean or touching the student). Time each group, and the fastest group wins. You can write direction sentences on the board if your students struggle a bit. (Go straight. - Turn right/left. - It's on your left/right.")
I got the mask from here:
http://www.mrprintables.com/dragon-masks.html
This site is amazing. If you want other animals:
http://www.mrprintables.com/printable-animal-masks.html
Lesson 4-6
Treasure Map. Thanks to janet1992 for the original idea. I made my own version that is a little more detailed. Students choose where to put the 'Start' pirate ship and the ending treasure. Then, they write directions how to get from the ship to the treasure. I required them to use: Go straight _____ block(s). Turn left/right. It's on your left/right.
If your class is quick about finishing this activity, there are two way to extend it. First, you can just have them decorate the map. Second, instead of gluing the treasure, have students glue just the 'start' pirate ship, then write directions to where they want the treasure to be. Once all students have finished, have them exchange maps, and the new student has to read the directions and then glue the treasure in the correct spot. My students liked doing this because they got motivated to write long and convoluted directions to mess with the student who would read it. ^_^
In the ppt, I included the finished scanned copy of the worksheet I made, the original (so you can move around any of the pieces; trees, buildings, whatever), and a page of pirate ships and treasure.

First period lesson:
greeting and questions
Introduction of new material! I plan on showing the actions and allowing students to guess. it's great for high level! I also write the new words on the board and have them tell me what it is in Korean. They then write it in their notebook and it can be used as homework later or they can reference it before a test :)
Listen and Speak and balloon man ppt.
I first will have them watch and listen to the video. Then i pull up the balloon man ppt and start asking questions! A wrong answer pops a balloon. It makes eliciting answers really fun for the students and they don't mind if they accidently get it wrong because they like to watch balloon man fall! The balloon man ppt can be downloaded under game templates (my pc hasn't been letting my upload my files on here for some reason.)
Cha Cha Slide
They watch the video once, and then the second time we do it together! This can be hit or miss. I have 3 classes that LOVE things like this! and...two classes that don't. Usually the younger the students, the more they like it.
Pin the ____
It's essentially pin the tail on the donkey, but I plan on using a different character. This can be played in teams of two or big teams. I will play it in two teams. We will blindfold one student from each team and then move the desks. The team must navigate the student using only english to the board on the other side of the room, and then guide him in the pinning. If you touch a desk, back to the starting line. If you use korean, back to the starting line.
This can also be made into a relay race where there is mr. potato head missing his eyes, nose, arms, etc. Each student gets one and the first team to assemble mr. potato head wins.
I wish I could attach my files but for some reason it has not been working :/

If this posts...whoo hoo! It worked!
Also...made a fun with sounds. ppt is borrowed from Kteacher, but i edited it. I've kept it really simple and my students LOVE the addition of tongue twisters! So first we practice the sound and where the lips/tongue/etc. should be...and then they practice the tongue twister! it ends with a storybots song (just click on the pic). my students love them, even if they are wordy and fast!

Here are a few activity handouts I made for more speaking practice on directions.
First, there is a pair activity to get them started. Here are the A and B maps I made.
And then here is a mingle activity, with 5 different versions of the town map. They can go around asking for directions, and if a student doesn't know where a place is, they can say, "Sorry."
I couldn't find any simple maps online for this chapter, so I hope these will help those with more beginner students.
Here is also a listening activity I used for the first period, where I read the directions and students had to follow along and then write the name of the place on their map. I included some, "It's next to," and "It's across from," as hint sentences as well.
Happy teaching!

Dice Game to practice writing the places from the book. Each number on the dice has a corresponding place, students write down the place they roll, even if it repeats. Whoever gets all 6 first is the winner. Short powerpoint to explain along with template for students to fill in. On Word template the left side for partner 1, the right side for partner 2. I also cut in half so two groups could use the sheet.

For reading practice, I created a simple sentence strip game.
Put students in teams. Each team gets the paper attached, but cut into the 7 sentence strips beforehand. Show a map on your screen/computer, I'll probably use one from the book or one someone has made. I say a location. Player 1 has the first 3 strips (go straight 1 block, 2 blocks, 3 blocks). They have to read and choose which one will get them to their destination. They run up and place that sentence strip up at the front somewhere. (You don't have to have them run, but it makes it a bit more fun). Player 2 has the next two sentence strips (Turn left, right). They cannot run to put theirs up until player 1 returns and tags their hand. Then player 3 has the final two strips (Its on your left, right). They run up once player 2 has returned then they all sit to show their team is finished. I'd give points if they were the fastest and then also point to any team who gets it correct. If teams are larger, they can rotate players and have "checkers" etc.

Thanks to the original poster of this game in the Grade 6 index. Anyway, I wanted to use it for my Grade 5's so I made it from scratch along with a PPT explaining the rules. I haven't used it yet but I hope it goes down well!

Here is a fairly simple map drawing activity for this lesson, revamped from a very old template.
The kids are split into groups and each group is given a blank map sheet (also attached). They read and/or listen to the directions, then draw the building in the appropriate space. The first group to hold up their paper with the correct building in the correct space gets the point. Then have them pass the paper to the next student and repeat. You could also award extra points to the group with the nicest looking map at the end of the game.
Show the example slide as it gives the students an idea of exactly how the directions correspond to the pictures (just how far is 1 block, which space should be 'on the left' or 'right', etc.).

4-1
Phonics lesson. Fairly straight forward.
4-3
I had the students sing the song with me playing guitar after we listened to it. It turned out really well and I ended up using the song during my open class. I also changed the pirates game a bit to include vocabulary from the lesson
4-5
I really didn't like the story in the book, so I used this one instead. Afterwards we played "Pin the Pieces on Mr. Potatohead", as someone here already suggested.
4-6
About 15-20 mins worth of the sentence telepathy game, the coteacher taught the other half of the class. Also sang the left and right song at the beginning.

My students had to do a writing test for this lesson. So I created a worksheet to help them review. Feel free to edit.

Here are 2 new materials for this chapter!
My coteacher had the ever popular doraemon directions ppt, but she had some extra edits I really liked! Works well f you have a more advanced 5th grade class that already knows left, right, go straight, etc.
Also including a worksheet I made. Suitable for a later period, students read the sentences and look at the map. Students then fix the sentences! :) pretty straight forward but I like to make it a group activity none the less :)

Lesson 1 Worksheet
Fill in the blanks and wordsearch.
Lesson 2 Worksheet
Fill in the blanks and crossword.
Sleeping Elephants
Sleeping Elephants with a bit of a twist - as well as a whiteboard, give each team a map. Instead of writing the sentence, they have to follow the directions they read to find the destination on the map, then write that on the whiteboard.
About Kim Jeong Ho and Disappearing Dialogue
PPT about Kim Jeong Ho and disappearing dialogue for the students to memorise the dialogue before they perform it in groups in front of the class.
I'll put the rest of my stuff up when finished.
