Last period activity:  Sentence writing, whiteboard drawing contest

PPT File contains:
[ ] Printable sentence writing worksheet (with word prompts)
[ ] PPT demo / instructions (animated for low-level comprehension)
[ ] Printable picture cards for teacher / drawing / charades / whatever

Lesson plan suggestion:
1) Explain worksheet and sentences; Monitor as Ss write own sentences
2) Collect all sentences; choose one randomly.
3) Read sentence aloud; Ss DRAW what they hear in groups, on small whiteboards
4) Winning group is the (funniest, best, cutest, most realistic, etc).  Erase, repeat.

Fonts are embedded.

Props to originator of the "spin the wheel" sentence activity, where I got the word suggestions.  Cannot find the thread or the author(!)

Zombie Town ~ 3D animated intro. Make sure you watch it all once before class, so the videos can buffer ~ Link Below:

Listening Game:

Give students a set of 8 cards (ant, ants, butterfly, butterflies, ladybug, ladybugs, bee, bees).  Give them some sort of prop - I gave each team a cup but a small box would work too.  Students listen to the clue and put the correct card in the correct spot.  For example, "There is a bee in the cup." (they put the single bee card in the cup)  "There are butterflies under the cup." (They put the butterflies card under the cup).

It's a pretty simple activity but my students are lower level, so it worked for them.  I split them into teams of 2 because I think any bigger would be a 'too many cooks in the kitchen' scenario.  The first three teams to get it correct won a point.

If you're students are higher level, I would give them two or three props - a cup, a box, and something else.  Or 3 different color cups: "There are bees in the green cup."  "There is a ladybug under the blue cup."  But you can use anything really.

On the PPT there are the cards and also a set of bigger cards (the last 2 slides) for teacher use.
