Bomb game keeps resetting the numbers!

Hi~~
I've been playing the Avengers Bomb game this week as a lesson 1-3 review and its been going really well, except for 4 or 5 links that reset the main board of numbers that students choose from.

I'll try and explain it a little better. So normally, I'd click on a number, the question comes up, students answer it, i click the next link and the points or challenge comes up, click another link and it returns to the screen with the numbers, minus the one they just chose. more and more questions they answer, the less and less numbers there are to choose from.

All great. But some of those final links take me back to a screen with all the numbers back again, including the ones they have already chosen.

What do I have to change and where do I have to change it to stop this? Thank you in advance...

This is a PowerPoint 2010 issue. Use PowerPoint viewer to run the game. You can download it free from Microsoft.

One thing you can do is delete the score board slide and reroute the hyperlinks to the question selection page.  There's some dumb quirk in PPT that resets everything after you've been to a certain number of pages before returning to the one with the triggers. 

The little button on the question slides that normally takes you to the score board can just be rerouted to the selection page.  By deleting the score board page (and keeping score manually), you will probably solve the problem.  Some questions might have an extra slide associated with them which is why only those are giving you the problem.

This has always worked for me.  To test it out, just save a separate copy of the template, delete the score slide, change the hyperlinks to return to the selection page (instead of the score page which is now gone), and then try those trouble questions that way.  If it works, go ahead and make that your new template and go from there.



The PPT viewer never does anything.  It has never solved any PPT problem I've ever had.

you cant link to more than 3 slides away from the main question page or else it resets.

example:

question selection ------> question --->bonus ----bonus 2/scoreboard----->question selection OK

question selection ------> question --->bonus --->bonus 2 ----->scoreboard ----->question selection NOT OK (triggers will reset because its more than 3 slides)


So I would suggest as the poster above said: get rid of the score board slide and reset the hyperlinks.
yes it's annoying, but I actually prefer a chalk score board because it gives my co-teacher something to do and if you've ever played my games before points get destroyed, switched, and added really quickly.

just personal preference!

BTW, what you wanted to try wasn't the "powerpoint viewer" but the "powerpoint 2007 viewer" as this issue didn't occur in powerpoint 2007 and the 2007 viewer, as you might expect, behaves similarly to 2007 powerpoint.
