This is my Listen & Speak 1 intro. I showed them a Mr. Bean video, but it's around 10 minutes, so it's up to you if you want to make it shorter. I showed them 30s - 5:40 then 6:15-end. I attached the video just in case it gets removed from youtube.

In the same ppt, I included a game that most of my students enjoyed. My former CT called it, "One Voice," in which 4-5 students (from different teams) come to the front and each of them is given a word. They must all say their word at the same time and their team members have to form a sentence with all the words. First team to guess the sentence gets one point. Sometimes listening to all 5 students speak at the same time is hard, so after a few tries, I asked students 1-3 to speak. Then students 3-5. Or, students 1,3,5, etc... Sometimes I also mixed the order of the words. E.g. S1=upset S2=made S3=What S4=so S5=you, and those ones were 2 points.

And here's what I did for Listen & Speak 2 (overview PPT, and game)

The overview PPT is done in 올리버's style since he uses such a beautiful format (thank you so much for all those PPT's that you have posted!). Translations are all straight from the book, so they should be legit.

The Connect 4 game should be pretty straightforward. The first few slides are for practicing the dialogue needed to drop a game piece in that slot.
Use slide 9 to explain the game rules, slide 10 to play the game together as a class, or print slide 11 for the students to play in pairs.

Since there is no review link open for this grade, I'm just going to post what I've done the past 2 weeks here.

The first is a textbook review game. Basically you split the class into groups and make sure every student has their textbook. Each question requires them to find an answer directly from the textbook and write it down on a blank white page/ whiteboard - whatever's your preference. One of my rules is that they have to write the page number, forcing them to actually find the answer and not just go from memory which puts the kids with high level students at a huge advantage. Anyway I run the point system as follows. If there are 5 groups the group that finishes first gets 5 points, second 4, third 3, fourth 2 and fifth 1. There are also bonus rounds in which the first team that finishes ONLY gets some kind of prize - points, steal or switch. The kids get pretty into it.

And this week I've just been doing your standard bomb game. Sprite's Batman template. They love it. No real explanation needed except to say that almost all the answers are directly from the textbook except a couple which I addressed in my lessons. So just check that your kids will be able to answer 'em.
