SPOT THE DIFFERENCE!
« on: May 28, 2015, 10:38:06 am »
Have the students work in pairs or in groups and have them generate sentences that describe the differences between each picture (this can be either verbal or written work, depending on students' needs). If the students who are chosen to provide answers can properly articulate the differences between both pictures, then they get a point. If not, defer to another pair or another group to see if they can properly communicate the differences.
Perhaps you can withhold points unless the students find ALL of the differences.

This activity is incredibly flexible and dynamic. Highly recommended for both middle and high schools (given the right context, of course).

CAVEAT: The activity gets progressively difficult-- the most difficult round will involve the students generating sentences in two minutes!

Also, characters' weight and height is something to consider as a difference between the pictures (in other words, the picture is NOT unintentionally distorted... the characters are actually heavier!)

Enjoy, dear Waygookians.
