One Piece: Worlds Most Wanted (game template)
« on: June 30, 2015, 12:16:46 PM »
New Game is up and good to go!
I've been wanting to do a One Piece Themed game forever!

This game is much simpler in game mechanics. Students choose a question, answer, and then choose Mystery Box A,B or C.
The mystery boxes are famous wanted pirates from the series, anime, and films.
Everything was grouped together properly.

Game Specs:
- 30 questions
- One Piece music and sound effects
- Over 90 One Piece character clip-art used! Each bonus slide has different characters portrayed in wanted posters!

- Read Slide notes, PM, or post here with questions

As always, enjoy

What's the rule with the nuclear slide? Same as the bomb (i.e. team loses all their points)?

I'm new to all these games

I usually avoid these games as they tend to be a bit slow and if you're playing, say,

five teams, that means 4/5 of the class isn't doing anything most of the time. However, this is absolutely dope. My kids love it.

I'm guessing a bomb means that team loses their points and the nuclear slide means everyone loses their points.

It's a good way to keep balance if one team happens to get way out in front early. Stops the other students from becoming dejected and losing interest.

I have always played mine differently than other users, I suppose. I don't like the idea that most of the class isn't doing anything, so I will tell you how I have changed it so that everyone is playing at the same time. Each team takes turns choosing a question (i.e. letter in the cases of most of these games). Each team has their own whiteboard, marker, and eraser. When the question comes up, they all write their answers, while I count down starting from 10 (I count slower or faster is need be). If they are finished faster, they can just turn their board over. When I hit zero, I hit a bell, and say boards up. If they put their board up too slow, they are out. I quickly look at all of the answers, and mark a note (denoted by a dot under their team name) on the teams that are correct. After that, I show them the answer, and we repeat or read, then continue to the next question. Students love competing simultaneously, and they will love pointing out spelling mistakes made by the other students. I usually change the bomb sites to total destruction, because otherwise teams that are so far down won't participate. Also, if it is question (like on the Pokemon Bomb game) where three choices pop up, one person from each correct team will stand up, and the winner will get the choice of the three for their team only (unless it is the bomb). Likewise, if the answer reveals just normal points, all correct teams get the points. I also throw in one or two math questions, and with the math questions, there can only be one winner, the fastest team to put their board up with the correct answer. I hope this helps some of you overcome the inactivity of students on game day, or at least increase the activity.

I use a nuke to mean everybody loses points, but a bomb means the team that gets the bomb can wipe out their choice of team's points.  Last week that meant the team could wipe out their negative points with the bomb, so that worked out nicely.

Yes. Nuke is all teams points are wiped; bomb is only  the team who finds the bomb will get points wiped.

Negative points are wiped if bombs are found, they are points and should be considered the same treatment. Gives happiness to teams that are too far down the chance to come back again

When I click on the question number wheel slide..the only thing that happens is the number changes.  When I go back to the wheel slide, it hasn't changed the number.   How can I fixed this?
