Happy Bunnies game~ Looks like it, but is NOT a bomb game!
« on: July 10, 2015, 01:16:56 PM »
Hello all! I just recently made this super simple game as a review for the test.  It sounds cute because it is, but also kind of sad.  :P  You will have to make up your own questions for this as it's not got a bomb game-like template.  I just basically made up questions in a separate document to ask my students.

How to play:
- The students are divided into two teams and the first student of each team stands up.
- They have to answer any question I ask them, and, if they are correct, can select a carrot from the grid.
- Behind the carrots are hidden a "happy bunny" or a "sad bunny".
- If it's a happy bunny, then that student is able to select someone from the opposing team and bring them into their own team.
- If it's a sad bunny, then the student who selected it has to go and become a member of the opposing team.
- At the end of the game, whichever team has the most members is the winner.

I have played this before with my students in Japan (without a PPT) and it was a hit!

Hope you and your students enjoy it!

I used your Happy Bunnies template to make my own for my camp activity - studying types of homes and houses.

I changed it a bit and added slides, links, etc.
Love it!

Interesting variation of red-rover (non-violent version)

One thing I'd change is the Font. While it's cute and suits the theme of the game, it's extremely hard to read and students will just see that as a bunch of jumbled images.

I'm going to cop this and make a similar game to go along with when I read "Happy Hippo, Angry Duck"

Nice idea.

Hi Stemarty!!
I didn't even think of it as red-rover! But now that you mention it it's pretty similar. haha
Yeah, I realized the font was too hard to read for the kids so I did change it. Thanks though! ^_^

Hey janet1992!
Thank so much! I feel honored that you used my template! I checked it out on your site and saw that you made it into a kind of connect-four type of game?  I didn't realize it, but yeah, it does work for that as well haha.

I thought it might be simpler for the little ones. But yeah, love the original idea also.
Very cute and spices up my lesson for camp. Thanks again !

I don't charge for anything I haven't illustrated myself.
I have a huge selection of FREE items, including ALL the camp lessons I have done past and present. If you don't like my site - don't use it. Simple as that.
I'm getting very tired of people complaining that I charge a huge , enormous 1$ for most of my items. Are you that cheap? Then, don't buy it.
I put in a lot of effort and it's constant whining that I don't give enough... You don't have to use my materials if you don't want too.

Happy teaching.

the problem is that people are getting very tired of you pushing your blog site in almost every single thread on here. not only that but you can never download anything from your blog - you have to go to and register for other sites like Teachers Pay Teachers. some of your materials are quite good, you do have some neat ideas, and it does look like you put a lot of work and effort into your classes -  but to be quite blunt I'm not going to follow 3-4 different links to external websites and register for a whole bunch of other sites to download your materials. especially when there's stuff equally as good if not better that i can grab straight from waygook.

if you want people to use your materials then just upload them here like everyone else does. then at the end sign off by asking people to please check out your blog to see how you ran the lesson.

if you want to push your blog so desperately then buy a banner add on waygook. or are you too cheap?

I don't see why anyone would be complaining about a blog that gives you free teaching ideas and materials. You sound really bitter.

Keep up the good work Mrsbaia!

Wow, I can't believe you have the audacity to insult Mrs. Baia's efforts. She takes her time and effort to share her creativity and teaching ideas with us, the least we can do is appreciate and pay $1 for her own creativity. Sucks there are people out there that complain rather than appreciate.

Keep on doing you Mrs.B <3 Love your blog!

Just played Happy Bunnies with 5 graders and they really enjoyed it. I typed out and then made strips of questions. I put these questions into a bucket (wish I had an easter basket). The student took a question from the bucket and gave it to me. They were not supposed to read it. I used this as a listening and speaking game. They had to answer the question well enough that I could understand their intent. If their answer was satisfactory, they chose a carrot. Kids really enjoyed it.

Here is my version including warm-up questions. At the end of the slides are the questions I used for the sentence strips.

This game is fantastic, thank you so much Envies!  :cheesy:

I edited it so it includes question slides and a bomb game style home page. Very easy to add your own questions.

Thanks again, I can't wait to play this with my students.

EDIT: I played this for the first time today and it was a HUGE hit. This afternoon I made it into a grid style reading game. Haven't used it yet so let me know if it works for you.

I made a new worksheet for this lesson- they have to draw themselves in present day and write their age and then draw in the future on a hover-board and then in a flying car.
I will be doing it with my students next week. v excited to see how it goes. Link:http://mrsbaiasclassroom.blogspot.kr/2015/10/hi-all-my-newest-creation-is-how-old.html

For a class activity, I did a class team bingo, broke the students into 2 teams and drew a table on the board - no computer needed, just your white board - for how to play go here: http://mrsbaiasclassroom.blogspot.kr/2015/10/dice-roll-team-bingo-esl-speaking-game.html

The dialogue of the dice roll bingo game was:

How old are you?
 I am _________ years old.

see blog for more detail.

Happy Teaching!  :undecided:

LOL I just found this while searching materials. BUSTED!

Wow, how hard up do you have to register multiple accounts to promote your pay--to-use materials?
