Easter PPT and Game
« on: April 20, 2011, 12:15:22 PM »
Thought I'd share this little Easter lesson and game. It focuses mainly on the secular side of Easter in America. I used the PPT with my classes last year and it was a hit. It only takes about 15 min, so it can be a nice little warm-up or closer. I added the Easter ppt game this year. Thanks to Gizelle for the template. I changed the game, so there are almost no religious questions.

This looks good.  For whatever reason I'm having trouble downloading the multiple choice game.  It's giving me the "powerpoint currently in use by another user" spiel.

I appreciated a more well rounded look at the Easter holiday.  I saw a few other powerpoints that were entirely religious, which is fine, but I've got the separation of church and state engrained in my mind, so it feels awkward teaching that...even tho I am Christian and the holiday is a celebration of Christ.  Hope that makes sense.

Anyways, I'll be using this (hopefully) tomorrow and Friday as a filler lesson for 4 of my 2nd grade middle school classes that are ahead of my other classes because of testing.  Appreciate it.

Thanks for the great idea duchessrachel. I changed the powerpoint to centre it more around Easter time in  New Zealand. Making this powerpoint made me a little home sick because I really miss Hot cross buns and easter eggs around this time :(

This is fabulous! I'm going to use it in my Saturday class - with a few tweaks, of course. How do you get the different pictures to appear at different times on the slides? I've tried to figure it out, but the Microsoft Office I'm using is in Korean.

There are a few I found from waygook and used last year during winter camp (holiday theme)

The first one is just information about Easter and I tried to make it not centered around Jesus but more about the holiday itself.

Hi, I thought this was great and it got me out of a hole today :) I adjusted it to fit the UK a little more, and included a couple of the more quirky traditions such as the Preston Egg Roll and Morris Dancing - I showed clips for these found on YT, but couldn't embed in the ppt as I'm working on a Korean version of office, so couldn't work it out...I also updated the game, so that's here as well. Thanks to Duchessrachel for the original post :)

Preston Egg Roll (first 10 seconds are about all that's worth showing):
Morris dancing (from about 2m25s to 3m50) :

Thanks a million to everyone!

It's technically after Easter, but I can still use these materials this week for my after school class, right?  8)

Hi there, I thought I might as well upload my Easter materials here since it's that time of the year again.

I used these ppts for Grade 1 and 2 and for high and low level classes this week.
This is an updated version of ppt i found on here with my own special stamp.
I made two simple word scramble games which all students love.
For very low level students I used this Bingo game

If time permitted I showed them the trailer of Hop from 2011. Includes Korean subtitles.

I got my Easter lesson from somewhere on this site, Here I think. I brought it out and tuned it up a bit today, added funnier pictures and a couple of egg hunt slides where the students search a picture for eggs, Did it with a couple classes already and the kids go nuts for it.

FYI, Easter falls on the first Sunday following the first full moon after the Spring Equinox.

This looks like a nice PPT traveler. It covers many aspects of the holiday.
