Useful warm-up to get students thinking in English, also good for vocab recall (can plug in recent topics). I use it as a 15 min warm-up for HS class sometimes (generally when I know my lesson is not long enough). I will have students choose a letter, then give 4-5 mins for students to write one word for each category that begins with that letter.

I will give tickets (I have a ticket raffle system in my class) for all teams that get 6 words. Then I go through each category and ask for words to see how many original things they could think of - I give tickets for each.
