Skyrim RPG adventure game (Play D&D with your students)
« on: September 08, 2015, 04:42:16 PM »
Hi all,

Firstly, a lot of character models and the idea itself was taken from KyleAndreTeacher. You can find a bunch more awesome D&D stuff at his thread here: http://www.waygook.org/index.php/topic,82372.0.html

This is my first attempt at making a PPT game so bear with me. This game has little to no educational value whatsoever but if you have a very small class and are looking for a fun timesink, this might work for you.

It's basically an incredibly simplified version of D&D.

The materials you will needs are a bunch of dice, a printer, erasable marker, pencils and preferably something to laminate paper.

The instructions are in the mapandinstructions.ppt.

NOTE: KEEP EVERYTHING IN ONE FOLDER or else the videos and sounds will not function.

If the videos are not working, make sure your PC has an up-to-date version of apple's quicktime.

This is an intro class which took us about 50 minutes to get through. The kids enjoyed making their characters, but it got a bit of a lukewarm response when I said we'll be playing EP02 next time...

So let me know if there's any questions, or suggestions to improve this game style, thanks.

Get the game here... WARNING: BIG ASS FILE!!!

I'm a bit confused with this game. Am I supposed to create the monsters that the students will battle? If so how do I do that? Do I add monsters in the powerpoint game? Or draw them in the map? You add the dragon in the ppt so I'm guessing that he's the last boss?

I didn't play D and D so I'm not sure how this works. Where are weapons, items, defense? What do the stats exactly do, like speed?

Also, how are the teams made? Do we separate students into distinct teams where they can decide who to be? Do the teams fight other teams?

To be honest... I'd recommend checking out KyleAndreTeacher's D&D ppts. I think they'd go over much better than this did.  :-[ But here's how I worked it...

Yes, you make your own monsters. Creating Characters took a while to get through so there's only one fight with a dragon.

I planned on making an item shop if this game took off. (it didn't)

I printed the dragon in a very small size and used a big paper clip (the ones with the triangular bases) to stand him upright on the map. You can print some heroes and do the same.

My class was 5 students so there were no teams. Everyone makes their own character.

Speed= bonus to movement. You can usually move 5 spaces. With each point of speed you can move an extra square.

Strength= Each point to strength you get a 1 pt. bonus to your damage if you're a warrior thief or archer.

Magic= Each pt to magic you get a 1 pt. bonus to damage and healing if you're a Healer or Magic User.
