Opposites Lesson - big/small, short/tall
« on: April 20, 2011, 01:23:12 PM »
Attached is a powerpoint about opposites. It is basically pictures of opposing things. Also included are a hand out of other opposites and a worksheet so students will have other things to say duing the hot potato game. It worked pretty well.

I scanned the Dr. Seuss book "One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish"  for my after school class. It has a lot of opposites in it :)

Great!  Opposites are great for building a relational vocabulary, and weaning students off the need to run to Hangeul every other nanosecond.  Here's a preschool reader by Sandra Boynton, I'll try to post some other stuff as well.  Ah, here is an Opposite Adjectives X-Word, orginally from Lanternfish, with a dedicated Powerpoint to go with it that helps all the students get the right answer and has graphics to help them conceptualize the meaning of the vocabulary.  I also have a nice PPT illustrating these opposites, but alas the file size is too big to post here with the new 25 MB limit (Moderators, please return to 100 MB).

I used one of Kyle's templates; opposites such as tall - short, old - young etc. It's really simple, chop and change as you please

This looks great! I feel as though I should incorporate more of this in the near future.
