Mad Libs game and MASH- 2 American Games to play with the class
« on: November 03, 2015, 12:11:42 PM »
Hi.  For class today, I taught the kids how to play a game that I did as a child.  This activity easily takes 20-30minutes each, depending on the level of your class.  In reality it should take 10-20 minutes each to do with the explanation, class example, paired activity and reading to the classroom some of the MadLib stories they came up with.  However the MadLibs took my boy classes on average 30-35 minutes to do total and I'm in one of the "higher level" schools according to my district.  Have something as back up for about 10minutes for a 45minute class.
It was a fun activity and they seemed to enjoy it. :azn:

I've posted the files needed below. Lesson plan is in the PPT.

I made the students read the MadLibs for practice and asked the girl classes to imagine they're fortune tellers and read their partner's MASH prediction(in complete sentences) in their best fortune teller "mode". The reading sentence thing might sound obvious to us, but some students will just read the 1 word that was circled in each category not realizing...
