Lesson on shopping. Most classes loved the first part where they had to guess the shopping items. I got them to write down their answers and keep them secret, then went through the answers asking the class. Gave a prize (sweets) to the person who got most right. Then I handed out the pictures of the shopping items (I wrote prices for each one before I photocopied) then had them choose 5 items and write them down. We then practiced the conversation as a class, then using the map and the price list the students worked in partners, one being the shop worker and one the customer asking where to find the 5 items on the shopping list. We then played i went shopping in groups which most seemed to get into

This lesson looks great. However, I was unable to open the conversation document.

Would you mind posting in a .doc format? Thanks!

This is a good format! I'm a new teacher and I sort of used something like this for ordering pizza.

Thanks for the lesson!

I've been asked to create own lesson ideas other than those in the textbooks and think this is great for improving everyday english language use. perhaps the students could be asked to switch roles and take the customer/shopkeeper role in turn. other than that, great lesson!
