Here's a simple test for the kids.  Fill in the blank, matching pictures to words, and fix the mixed up sentences.   Enjoy.

Grade 4 Lesson 10
« Reply #3 on: August 25, 2010, 03:28:51 pm »
All i made was a simple ppt this time.

i was thinking of doing a wordsearch for let's play 10.2 and for let's write

10.3 i'm going to have the students line up in teams of 3. i set the time and each student writes "play, baseball, swim" on the board. when he/she is done, the next student goes like a relay race. after 2-3 minutes i'll stop and count the number of words to see who wins.
10.3 game-2 or 3 teams, choose a slide from the ppt, if student says it correctly 6 points and then they can take a short, medium, or long range shot, shooting a piece of paper into a wastebasket for 4, 3 or 2 points.

10.4 game-unscramble sentences relay race on the board with 3 teams

This is my first post but I decided it was time I paid people back for all the great materials they provide here.

Here is a ppt for period 1 with a bunch of different sports.

There is also a bomb game for period 2. Students say Let's play ... and then click on the picture. Then they say "sorry I can't. I'm ..." then click on that picture and you will see the points.

The bomb game came from someone else originally but has been heavily modified by me and I can't remember where it came from but am very grateful to the original maker.

Here is a ppt I used last year.  It was on mediafire.
There are also some cards you could show students when playing a charades game.

Thanks for the pass the ball game! :D

Thanks so much for this awesome stuff everyone! The Practice PPT and Bingo game were a huge hit  :D I am just in my 2nd week of teaching, so I'm sure I'm the only one who doesn't know this but I have to ask... Why is there no online guide/lesson plan section for Grade 4 past Lesson 8?!

the online lesson plans are based on last year's book - they added additional chapters this year so those sections haven't really been built yet

Hey all,

Here is a typhoon game for this lesson that I quickly put together. I have tried to keep it simple but have added one or two new phrases which I recommend you discuss briefly before the game.

Hi,

I edited the jeopardy game to reflect low level speakers who only know the curriculum phrases, so here it is:

For the last session of Lesson 10 I told my kids the story of The Little Red Hen. "The Little Red Hen said, 'Let's plant these seeds.' 'Sorry, I can't,' said the mouse." etc. I used different voices for the animals. The kids laughed.
Then they did a sequencing activity with picture cards from the story.
I have attached the powerpoint with the story and a document with the picture cards so you can print, laminate and cut to your heart's content.

Star Power is a new PPT game inspired by all the classics like Bomb, Typhoon, Monster, and Pirates.

Make 2 to 6 teams. Team picks a box on the map screen. Click "O" if they answer correctly. Click "X" if they answer incorrectly. Use the "Star meter" to keep track of points. Click the "home" button to return to map.

Have fun. :D
