After school class ideas...HELP!
« on: March 08, 2016, 11:36:37 AM »
So because my school is continually shrinking in class sizes, I only teach 20 hours of regular classes a week. My VP told my coteacher I need to come up with two other 40 minute classes to teach each week.

I'll be doing a teachers club and a "5th and 6th grade club." No idea the students level, how many students...nothing. This is my fourth year and I've never had to teach an after school class like this, so I am wondering if anyone could provide ideas or guidance? The levels in my classes are very mixed, so I'm not sure who will sign up. Some kids can use scientific vocabulary with no problem, others can't read or write.

Thank you in advance!

Look down the list, I've made a term breakdown (26 classes) and have posted all the resources for lessons 1-12.

My after-school classes are grade 5/6 too.

Hi there,

I do a lot of reading based things as my school wanted that. So here's some of my lessons and PPT you can use... pretty easy to follow:

Reading Time Wondershttp://mrsbaiasclassroom.blogspot.kr/2015/02/reading-time-wonders-aka-easy-last.html

We also did some cooking lessons:

Chicken Kebabshttp://mrsbaiasclassroom.blogspot.kr/2014/05/chicken-kebabs-cooking-in-esl-classroom.html

And some more random after school ideas:

Good luck! ;D
