Clothes Shopping

So I decided to do a clothes lesson, I added to RTalbot's clothes powerpoint and taught them clothes vocabulary and grammar surrounding wear and buy.
Then I gave them a catalog with different clothes with prices and colors available. So they choose what they want to buy and in what color. Once they are done (this takes a while especially with girls) they stand up and say what they want to buy.
My middle school girls loved this, all girls love to shop for clothes. I also made a boy's catalog too.
Enjoy!

This is really great! If our printer and copiers weren't crap I'd be all set.

Awesome, awesome, awesome. I'm reposting this on a different thread since it corresponds almost perfectly to a chapter in the textbook I'm using.

I love this a lot! I am doing a shopping unit for a university freshmen conversation class, and I decided to use your powerpoint as a review for the first class.
I added some other vocabulary and photos if anyone would like it- attached here.
(I'm not sure why it attached twice, but both files are the same)

I did your lesson on Clothes shopping with my After school English class! It was great but they new a lot of the words so I did a second lesson where I just went over some more fashion vocabulary and adjectives for describing good style. This went over really good and the kids learned a lot. It was fun watching them guess the words and trying to recall some words from the previous day (i.e. visor which they got a kick out of).
I wanted to give something back to Waygook, which has given me so many awesome ideas! I hope this is of use to someone!

I just taught this class with my 1st grade Middle school girls. It was a great success! In fact we didn't finish in time. Next time I will allocate at least 15 minutes to the shopping task. I also deleted the 'Grammer Time' slides because they didn't seem necessary and I swapped out the $300 for 300,000 won.

The main powerpoint I have to give most of the credit to two other waygooks. I added the dialogue slides. You can play a hangman game to help them fill in the blanks. Then get one student to play the shopping assistant and one student to play the customer with each slide. I offer candy as an award for participation. I got the dialogue from a worksheet I found on islcollective. I've also attached that worksheet in case you want to use it as well. I end the class with a pass the pencil game which is the same as pass the ball. I divide students into groups for the game.

Okay I made my powerpoint more interesting. It was a bit too easy for my middle school students before and I teach in a VERY rural area. I added patterns in the powerpoint like striped, polka dots, plaid, and checkered. I also teach them what a skork and sweat pants are. I review the vocabulary words dress shoes, visor, blouse, etc. Enjoy.

Well this PowerPoint is a total of 93 slides. I added a lot more examples for patterns. Should be good. I'm planning on using this for a period and a half for my camp.
