Bomb Game Help!
« on: April 06, 2016, 06:38:58 PM »
Hello everyone!

I know plenty of people in the past have posted about this problem, but I really can't figure it out.

A lovely waygooker has shared this Baskin Robbins Bomb Game, and my students love it. But for the certain letters I click (which leads to multiple hyperlinked slides), when I click to return to the main screen, the letter I clicked doesn't disappear on the main screen, plus all previous letters I had clicked return (the screen goes back to default).

The letters that do this in the game in particular are...I, M, X, and 1 and 4. Does anyone know how to fix the problem? I've been working on it for a few hours and can't seem to figure it out. Any input would be helpful!

This has happened to me a lot and i don't have a fix for it I'm sorry!

I just get the students to write the letters on the board as they choose them, that way they know which ones have been said already. i know it's not ideal but it's worked for me!

It's a bug in 2010 and 2013 ppt programs,
After too many hyperlinks if you return to a trigger screen, everything resets.

There's nothing you can do except play on an older version of ppt (2007)
Or get 2007 ppt viewer (free)

If you have time, you can delete extra hyperlinks (max of 3 slides before returning to the question page)

Alternatively go to my game page http://www.waygook.org/index.php/topic,83738.0.html
All games have been designed with this bug in mind,

Cheers

That glitch is only in the 2010 version and PowerPoint Viewer 2010. 2013 and 2016 work fine, but unfortunately Microsoft won't release an new version of PowerPoint Viewer. Like stemarty said you can use PowerPoint 2007 Viewer. Game makers can either limit the number of slides or get around it using an advanced feature called Custom Shows. The games I have made use Custom Shows and most are compatible with all versions of PowerPoint. You can find them here.

Custom Shows are like PowerPoint Shows inside of your main PowerPoint show. If you learn how to use custom shows you can place all of your hyperlinked slides into them. When they end you will go back to your main PowerPoint show. The whole process of making Custom Shows for all of your questions can be a bit time consuming, but you can order your slides however you want and you don't need to worry about hyperlinks as much.
This video explains the main idea, but it'll be structured differently for using them in games.

I changed the game for 6th Grade Lesson 5 May I take your order?
But all of the links should be working now!
