Hello all! I'm new to these forums but not to PowerPoint games.

I'd like to share my games with everyone who frequents here. I use macros to do cool things like keeping scores, customizing names, and other neat things VBA programming can do. Ever see PowerPoint call out Bingo numbers, or generate Bingo cards, or even let you play Plinko?

Note: Some templates may not work well with the 2010 version of PowerPoint. There is a problem with how 2010 reads the timer code and could cause your PowerPoint to freeze. These were created with 2013, and have been told work well with 2016.

Who Wants to Be A Millionaire?

I've gone back and revised one of the first templates I've made with VBA, Wheel of Fortune! It's more dynamic than the last version, allowing you to have as many puzzles and toss up rounds as you'd like, and in any order that you'd like. The next button will tell you what type of round to expect next. If there's no more puzzle rounds, it will change to link you to the Final round.

Editing puzzle rounds are a breeze! All you have to do is select a square, type one letter IN CAPS, and then change the fill to white. That's it. (Unless your puzzle has more than one letter in it, then you'll have to do that again and again several times.)

It still has all the same features as the older one, real time score keeping, sounds, and an all new look with new graphics. Check it out below, and let me know how it goes! (No, seriously. There may be some bugs I didn't catch after revising it from top to bottom. Thanks!)

Wow, thanks for the reply and taking the time to dive into the game! I do appreciate it when a new set of eyes takes a look at my work, as they are the ones that find all the stuff that have slipped by me, like the "O" button for example.

EDIT:  There is one major flaw - vowel O does not display when clicked.

To fix the "O" button, all you have to do is select it, and then go to Action Settings, and click on Add Macro. From the drop down list, select "GetLetter" and you're done.

Having a hard time selecting it? Try using the Selection Pane! On the HOME tab at the top, there's a section at the very far right that has 3 very useful and underused tools in PowerPoint. Go to Select, and open up the Selection Pane. From there, you can scroll through all the shapes and text boxes and such on that slide. Click on the shape called "TriggerO" once and it will select it for you, and then you can change the Action Settings once it's selected.

I just tested out the wheel of fortune.  There is no sound when the wheel is spinning.  If you were to add that, it would definitely help to further enhance the game atmosphere. 

I did consider adding sound at first, but this is something I thought wasn't necessary and probably super repetitive to hear every time. I'll add it as an option on that slide whether or not you want the sound effect or not with it defaulting to ON.

It works well enough on one as well as two screens - though you are limited to 3 puzzles when using one screen (though I can add additional hyperlinks to remedy this problem).

Ok, this one could be me not explaining this feature that well in the template. I could expand on the How To Edit section in the future.

You're not limited to the 2 puzzles and Final that are defaulted in the template. Copy over as many ROUND, or TOSS UP slides as you'd like and put them in the section where the 2 default puzzles are. Delete the original 2 afterwards unless you want one puzzle to say "TESTING GAME BOARD" Slide order does NOT matter as long as all your puzzle slides are in that middle section between the Guide and the Wheels. The button will do the rest.

By the way, with your programming skills, I bet you could come up with an awesome matching game.

This is something I'm still looking into. It's rough coming up with these templates, since there are very very few templates out there that mess with VBA as I do. As soon as I can figure out how to program a matching game, it'll definitely be added to my site!

Perhaps it may give you some ideas on how to improve your wheel.

Changing gears now, and adding a feature to my Bingo Caller . . . the ability to customize your card pattern!

The Bingo Caller still picks numbers at random, and you can still remove groups of balls not in use so you don't have to sit through all 75 balls when all you need is all the B's and O's for 4 corners. It will also count down all remaining balls left to be called, and will also display all balls already called.

Also attached, Make a Bingo Card Generator. This will automatically generate as many bingo cards for you to print off. I recommend printing 2 or 4 per page after you have generated them.*

This is a quick and easy PowerPoint file that will randomly pair a group of names to assign each other a secret Santa. Enter the participant's names on Slide 1, and then run Slide 2 and follow the directions. The program will not pick yourself or another name that has already been picked. More simple and efficient than drawing from a hat!

But am I one of the only teachers who have had PPT removed from their PC's and are forced to use Hanshow....which often has errors or trouble running many of the bomb games ?

More often than not the Hyperlink has to be moved forward 1 slide for every button/link.

I'm sorry to hear you aren't enjoying all things PowerPoint, seantheman. Would you be able to bring in your own personal laptop with PowerPoint to use? I would hope you'll be able to find a work around so you can enjoy all these games for your kids.
