Printable Sites
« on: July 27, 2011, 06:46:19 pm »
Hello!  Here are a few sites I have found super helpful.  I have used them in small groups for after school programs and during summer camps.

1.  this site is great for activities incorporating key concepts to language.  It is designed for regular classroom instructors but English teachers can easily adapt.
(this links is for printables)  http://www.dltk-cards.com/
(this is the main site)  http://www.kidzone.ws/

2.  http://www.readinga-z.com/  (this is a great site for leveled reading books and additional activities and tools, it does cost a yearly fee, but I highly recommend it.  It helps to see where your students reading level is in relation to students in the USA)

I am currently making a class race chart. I have 16 classes at this school, so I thought it would be fun to make them compete against each other. The class silenced immediately when I mentioned that the class with the most stars will get to watch a movie or have a party. The printables website definitely worked very well for my idea. Thanks you for the resources!

A different kind of printable: this site is great for graph and patterned paper of all sorts. You can customize the output and download it as a pdf.

www.superteacherworksheets.com They recently added a membership fee of about $20 for a year I believe. They still have some worksheets that are free, though. Tons of grammar worksheets, reading comprehension and phonics.

www.worksheetworks.com  Completely free and tons of worksheets you can put together yourself.

These sites are really awesome! I'm teaching a little 7 year old during the day and it's good to spice it up a bit with a few extra printed things.  ;)
