Robots Future , Present , Past
« on: October 19, 2010, 05:50:04 PM »
Here is a lesson I have used and it was easy to teach . Just want to give back to a site which i think is very helpful. Tell me if it works for you or if you can make it better. I have some problems coming up with future inventions but sometimes it's fun.

Thanks to the comments below  I realized I didn't send the Lesson plan so it was kind of difficult to understand. Hope this is more helpful

Look, guy, I don't want to be mean, but there's nothing to teach from here. You should pull this down and edit it, or take it down altogether. There's nothing in the worksheet file, and there's no lecture material in your powerpoint. It's just a bunch of pictures. I'm glad you want to give back, but this lesson is too hard to work with.

To make your lesson more useful, you could add a bit of an explanation or a lesson plan of how you taught this lesson. Or even edit the PPT with notes for each slide of what you did/said. That way, people will know where you were going with it. Sometimes it is difficult to guess what the content is supposed to be without any notes that go along with the presentation. I'm sure you have an interesting lesson put together here, but it seems people just can't figure it out at the moment!

There was a chapter about robots I did a while back. Just reminded me about it. Most of it is self explanatory. There are some introductory discussion questions, vocabulary for the reading handout, then an activity. The reading is a little heavy, but my students are mostly high level. I went line by line and made them translate everything to make sure they understood. The final activity, I had them write 4 different things that have changed from past to present, then had them make a conjecture about the future. They didn't have to write the whole structure, but I had each group share one of their answers, and they had to respond in complete sentences. For example, "In the past, we used... Now we use... In the future we will use..."
