Hey, not sure if this is what you're looking for, but during my MS summer camp I did a little warmup activity with world music.
I had a PPT map with 4 countries outlined and I asked the students for the name of each country. Then I played a 45-60 second clip of music from each country (obviously not a fair representation of the music from each country, but just some 'typical' music).
The students wrote which country they thought the music might come from on a piece of scratch paper. After 4 clips I revealed the answers and asked them to choose their favorite.
This whole process took about 6-8 minutes each time (I did 3 different warmups), so you could use it as a whole class activity if you added more information about the songs/countries or made a final guessing game. It could help them practice nationalities (It's from France. It's French.) or "I like/love/hate... because" (I like the song from Ireland because it's very interesting) or even music terms (catchy, has a good beat, etc).
