My students and I just finished a lesson about the Bucket List so I decided to do some role-playing with them.
Maggie Rich died and left no details as to who gets what. The lawyers must decide who in Maggie Rich's life gets what. There's a list of items including a mansion in Spain, ownership to a Family Mart, 10 Gold Bars and a Girl's Generation Fan Club Membership. Characters included her ex-husband, son, daughter, grandson, best friend since high school and assistant.
There are 10 characters and I had 20 students so they paired up. Students worked on what they wanted and why then at the end, the lawyers decided who gets what.
I laughed til I cried with some of the stories students made. The grandson said his grandma used to give him the gold bars to play with as a child so he thought that his grandma would want him to have it. The neighbor made a story up that he secretly married Maggie's daughter because Maggie didn't approve and the grandson was his son. The daughter later denied it but the neighbor promised to give a DNA test.
