Castle (tv show)/crime lesson
« on: December 19, 2011, 12:44:05 pm »
I made a lesson for my winter camp about crime procedurals, specifically Castle. It should take around 2 hours to complete, so can be used for camp or as 2 regular lessons. there is a PPT attached, as well as a vocab sheet and some dialogues for the role play at the end.

First go through the characters on the PT, then show the episode. It's the Halloween ep from season 2, and is fine for HS kids. They should like it, it's funny and gross and twisty all at once. Then there are questions, a vocab review, and the dialogues. They're from the actual episode, and are in order, so I'd get the kids to divide into pairs and then perform them in sequence.

This is pretty high level, but I'm sure you could dumb it down if needed.

Here's the episode: http://www.mgoon.com/view.htm?id=3209279 (Fans of Nathan Fillion in Firefly will be amused by the opening sequence!)

If you have an all-girls school, you could change the questions to fit with this episode: http://www.mgoon.com/view.htm?id=3209198

It's about a model who is killed, so it's all fashion and drama, etc.
