Night Class?
« on: March 02, 2012, 08:35:52 am »
I'm new to teaching and I work at Posan middle school in Hyeonpung, but it's connected to a high school (so all the same campus). It's in a small town, but the high school has dorms, so the classes are larger for the high school than the middle school. (20 for ms and 55 for hs). The school(s) are more than likely going to ask me to teach night classes for the high school students (as told to me by the high school's GET). I will be paid extra per hour.

Thing is, I'm not sure what to do. I've only ever tutored little 6 to 8 year olds back in America. Any help is greatly appreciated!

In my experience night classes are usually great, apart from the fact that they can mean 12-hour days. In my case (and most other teachers' I know) they're smaller, more relaxed, and with the brighter students. Plus, attendance is often lower than the attendance sheet would indicate. Students will sign up and then their math hagwon schedule changes and they can't come, etc. I doubt you'd ever have an evening class with 55 students.
