Movie Trailer - Snow White and the Huntsman
« on: May 21, 2012, 01:53:53 PM »
What a fantastic lesson!  I pulled it from busytecher.org (http://busyteacher.org/8085-snow-white-and-the-huntsman-trailer-activity.html) and improved upon it to include NEAT based skills too, with describing picture scenes.

Outline:

Fill in the blanks
  • Read script together.  Cover any difficult words.
  • Play video again, but hide the screen so student just listen and fill in the blanks.  I played it twice for my students.
  • Check answers together on the PPT.
  • Read through again with the answers.

Questions
  • Read questions 1~7 below.
  • Show video again.
  • Allow time to complete answers.  Check together on the PPT.
(You can add/change questions to suit your classes interest.)

Describe the pictures
  • Create sentences using the word prompts.
  • Allow some time to do this.  Students may work in pairs.
  • Write sample sentences on the board.
  • Read sentences together as a class.

**Handout format not supported by this site, so had to put it into pdf.  But you can pull all the images and words from the ptt to create your own handout if you wish not to use the pdf.

Thanks for posting this, I promised my kids a movie lesson and then forgot about it over the long weekend.  Along comes Tuesday and I have no time to make something decent.

This worked out well, fitted my 50 minutes with a bit of warmup time at the beginning to talk about our favourite movies.

Again thanks very much, saved me from having to own that I forgot :)
