I just wanted to say that this was a really cute idea. I'm teaching a lesson on personality/character to prepare my kids for a pen pal project we're going to do the following week, and I'm going to use this as a hook for that lesson followed by flashcards practicing the personality words, and then a personality board game (you can find it at boggelsworldesl.com... awesome site for board games. I edited it to include the words from the powerpoint so that they had a consistent vocab set).

I'm planning on using karenology's powerpoint (thank you for making it!) and just wanted to say that I re-looked up the words in Korean, then sent the Korean vocab list to a Korean friend who corrected it a bit for me.

"friendly" should be "친근한" because that describes a personality, rather than "다정한" which means "fond"
I used "예민한" for "sensitive" and my friend said it was fine, but it looks like "과민한" could also be correct.
"confident" should be "자신감 있는" because that's the adjective form
for "creative" I used "창조적인" though again, it looks like "독창적인" could also work

My Korean is fairly basic so forgive me if there are any mistakes, but as I ran it by a friend it should be good.

Attached is the boardgame and the edited version of karenology's ppt.

I used this lesson and my girls loved it! I do have the issue of the resulting pigs all looking the same tho...with dresses and bows on them. All girls school of course.

I used this activity as an opener for a personality lesson recently.  I changed a few of the words to simplify things for my low level students and eliminated the Korean - I don't like to use it on PPTs because I personally can't speak it, ha, and figure my co-teacher can translate where needed.

I tend to draw on the board throughout as well - they have trouble seeing that "big" and "small" are relative to their paper size otherwise, ha.  It also keeps them laughing because my pigs tend to be unintentionally ugly, haha.  My students pigs actually vary a lot - I've even had a pretty terrifying "man pig."  My co-teacher suggested to the kids that the pigs looked like their artists -- that made them laugh a lot too, and in some cases it's actually correct, ha.

I have been reviewing emotion and personality words with my high schoolers for the past two weeks. A lot of my students are "doodlers", so this will give me a great opportunity to merge my lesson with their artistic-ness. Thank you for the "prezi", it looks great!

Excellent. I love that this isn't PPT because I can have my language exchange do it using his iPad. <3
Thanks for sharing!

Looks really great, I am just starting a Advanced class and I need some ideas on what to teach them. This can be a good activity for the first day. If anyone has any more ideas I would appreciate it!

Gave this a shot last week. Girl students def. enjoyed, the boys..not so much. Also had to use Korean to help with the definitions - but otherwise great lesson.

Glad you guys could liked it and could use it  :D its served me pretty well. To answer some questions, I teach this to 2nd grade HS classes of about 35/40 students, all boys or all girls depending. The first part with all the vocab words looks really daunting and boring but I just ask the kids to describe each word and keep it moving quickly. They use synonyms or gestures and as soon as they give me something to indicate they understand, I ask about the next word. That usually takes 5 mins. The actual drawing takes 5 mins too. Then the results take about 10 mins because each result prompts a couple of minutes of chaos and looking at each other's results and laughing at the inclusion of the word "crazy" etc - if you have little angels, this will be much quicker! When talking about accuracy/inaccuracy of the test, I call on a few students and ask what they think, then take a vote on whether the test is accurate/inaccurate. "Raise your hand if you didn't vote" is always the most popular! I ask them why they didn't raise their hand and they say its a little accurate etc. Then we do similar chatting/voting about friends/family similarities. Then they write a summary about the test and their results.

Oh, and at the end, they read their summaries to their group of 4. Their group-mates give them a score between 1 and 5. The winner from each group stands up and reads to the class. They don't do the scoring properly and end up just conspiring so that they don't have to stand up, so whoever stands up gets immunity from next week's presentations!
