Here is a phonics page for lesson 4.

Since phonics are severely lacking in this book, I made a worksheet for the students to practice the 8 letters they have learned so far.

A homework worksheet for pronouns, food vocab, and "I like X" "She likes X" etc. No negatives or questions. Designed for a very low reading level.

As I'm giving it for homework, I'm answering the first question of each section myself in pencil before photocopying, so they get the idea of what they're supposed to do, and highlighting the s on "he likes" and "she likes".

This is a worksheet to go with confusedsafferinkorea's post of the broccoli song. I find my students get restless when they are learning songs so it works better with a worksheet that they can follow on with their finger. To make it more competitive get them to take turns using the TV and a pointing stick to see who can keep up the best!

I DON'T LIKE PIZZA!
A homework worksheet for pronouns, food vocab, and "I don't like X" "She doesn't X" etc. Focusing n negatives, small section with questions. Designed for a low reading level.

As I'm giving it for homework, I'm answering the first question of each section myself in pencil before photocopying, so they get the idea of what they're supposed to do.

Quite similar to my previous worksheet, which was all positives, I just tweaked it a bit.

I made a word search and a word scramble with some of the food vocab. Hopefully someone will find it useful.

The word search also has a hidden message. Teacher Jamie says broccoli ice cream is yucky. Although if you don't tell them there is a hidden message, no one will work it out.

The document has two pages, the second has the solutions on it for you incase you need them quickly.

Here's a game I'd come across in a thread for a different book and tweaked slightly. It's a Monster's Inc themed bomb game.

hi fellow teachers,

Here is an speaking elimination game for L.4 but it can be easily altered to fit other lessons.

The idea of the game goes like this. Ss are split into teams and a S in each team will take turns to read a word or sentence in hopes to find points for their team.

Once the S reads the word or sentence, T would click on that word or sentence block to reveal the points (if any).

The points increase as the slides progresses, but there are some where you lose all points and 1/2 points and same as leader pts.

This way the Ss must read all the words or sentences in each slide.

I found this template from someone else.  I just altered it for my needs.

Hope this will help someone.

Happy teaching.

Speaking Survey

Students walk around and ask 3 other students if they like or dislike the food on the survey sheet:

S1: Do you like (____ )?
S2: Yes, I do./ No, I don't.
S1: Marks O or X on the sheet.

Here is a PPT for new vocab, can be used for section 1 or 2. They were amused by the flashing pictures.

It includes a link to this song "Do you like broccoli ice cream?"  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=frN3nvhIHUk#t=149
They loved the song, and wanted me to play it a second and even third time. (I played it twice and we sang along)

Alsoooo, here's a modified Heads up 7up game, credit to the original template creator. (Warning, Korean co or home-room teacher will need to help explain this. When they understand, it works really well with the lesson)
