I was going to post this for lesson two, but I don't know how. But I think it is more relevant here. It is a simple guessing game. Hope you enjoy it

A simple intro PowerPoint. I got the template from another thread and changed it to put in some gifs. Enjoy!

For part 1 of the lesson I played a variation on a slap game with the students. I made it a team game with points so the kids could get more into it. Directions are on the ppt slide. Make sure they use the sentences, "Do you have a....?" and "Yes, I do." You should print out and laminate slides 1-7 for the students to slap (I took the sentences off before I printed, but I guess either way is fine). My students liked this, but if you have no co-teacher, or one that doesn't do anything to help you out, this is a tough one to run on your own.

Also, I found this song. My kids liked it. Unfortunately, it cuts off at the end, and you can't find a full-version, but it didn't seem to bother the kids too much.

I combined parts of all the other ppts posted and added a simple drawing game for Period 1.

To be played in pairs. Students draw an object on their marker board and keep it out of the other student's sight. The other student guesses what they drew by asking, "Do you have a ______?" The student who drew answers with "No," or "Yes, I have a ______."

Here's a power point I put together introducing the vocabulary for this lesson.  It would also work for a lesson introducing early level school supplies.

Here is a Chase the Vocab using the words from this lesson. I didn't get to use it in my classes because my teacher prolonged the the speak & play activity :(
Hopefully someone else can put this to good use.

I also used this little video at the beginning of class. This kids really liked it and allof my classes asked if they could watch it again.

Go Fish game with cards in the back of the book. Hope this explains it well. Will do demonstration in class as well. Make sure there is an even number of students or have an extra deck of cards because you need pairs.

(accidentally posted this under 4th grade, "Is this your pencil?" Similar names!)

Ended up doing this lesson for an Open Class.
Here is a really simple ppt we used for quick vocab review.
And I have a pass the ball game, though it is incredibly simple, and doesn't utilize the question Do you have a ____. Just the sentence "I have a ______". My students are rather low level and we thought it best for an open class to keep it a little simple.

*Both ppts utilize pictures from the text.

Made this simple game to play as a class.  I've done this game before with other grades and they had a lot of fun.  You're welcome to improve on it as you wish.

Directions:
First, split the class into two teams.  I usually do Boys vs Girls to make it easier.  Choose one student from each team and have them do Rock, Paper, Scissors.  Winner will ask you "Do you have a ____?"  Click on the picture and it will reveal whether you have the item or not.

Guess the Card
For this game you'll need to print out the cards (and maybe laminate them) and prepare 6-7 bags to hide the cards in.
  • First use the New Words PPT to review the lesson's vocab, as well as some new words I've added.
  • Divide students into groups of 3-5.
  • One student closes his eyes and pulls a card out from the bag. He asks, "Do you have [whatever his guess is]?"
  • If he's right, the others say "Yes, I do." and the student keeps the card. If he's wrong, the others say, "No, I don't." and the card goes back in the bag.
  • Pass the bag to the next student.
  • Student with the most cards at the end is the winner.
Disappearing Dialogue
I've attached a disappearing dialogue PPT for Period 2, Look and Say. I did this as a class.

The powerpoint reviews twenty words from lesson 1 to 6 in a random order;
book, cat, cow, crayon, dog, eraser, five, four, glue, notebook, one, pen, pencil, pencilcase, pig, ruler, scissors, six, three, two

The doc file is a follow-up worksheet(word search).

I hope these are helpful when your throats need to rest. :-)

Review of the dialogue from Showtime, with a second section with fill in the blanks for students to practice memorizing the dialogue before splitting into groups to act it out.

Pictures are straight from the text.

I made this PPT so students can practice the key expression from this chapter.

Asked them to look at the slide and remember the items on them.  On the next slide, one picture will be missing--and the pictures are shuffled.  Instead of shouting out the answers, I had the students raise their hands.  They are to say the sentence, "Do you have a(n) ________?"

I wrote the order of the missing words on a post it to keep track of them since there are two slides I used with different pictures in them.

Here's a Hot Seat Game with the rules (Speaking):

Review the expressions at the start, then it's time to play.
Divide the class into teams of 4-6.
Team 1 goes first. Player 1 goes to the front of the class and turns away from the TV screen.
The team sees a picture, the teacher advances to the next slide, and Player 1 is ready to start.
Team 1 gets 30 seconds to act out what they saw on the screen. Player 1 uses the expression, "Do you have a ____?".
