Music Game x2
« on: May 22, 2014, 04:48:58 PM »
My students really enjoy these games so I have been using them about once a month, as such I have 2 more versions here.

I put the students in teams (usually 4 in a class of 28) and ask them to make a team name. They choose a song, listen, and write down the blank words (for lower classes I let them listen twice) When the song ends they say their team name and tell me the words. If they don't know I give hints. The folders include all the music videos, PPTX and the answers.

I have zero interest in any criticism about song choice, you don't like it, don't use it, simple really.

Wow this is such a simple idea but so awesome! So polished and finished! Thank you  :-*

PS I absolutely love your comment..... "I have zero interest in any criticism about song choice, you don't like it, don't use it, simple really. "

So do you just do one team at a time? Or does every team fill in the blank for each song?  How does a team get to win?

Katybutz Thanks!!

Bird212, each team writes down the answers, then it is a free for all for answering. That's why they have team names, I choose the fastest team and they answer. Obviously I use my own discretion in choosing the team to answer so the points stay relatively even!! It is all very competitive and fun. The other cool thing is that I have noticed even the kids who don't answer follow along and write down the answers then pass them to their more vocal team mates, or at least the song names they like to listen to later.

Ok...and you just have the lyrics typed out on a worksheet for them with the blanks?

Birdy212 No way, that would involve cutting down half the amazon rain forest. I just ask them to write the words down on a scrap of paper or in their books or something. Lyrics only on the screen.

It would perhaps be better to have handouts, but I'm not willing to print 25~30 pages per class

This is exactly the sort of thing I've been looking for as a filler for next week! And I love that there are no handouts :) Thank you!
