Edit: I'll try to make a read aloud story for each chapter, wheree I go around the room pick students randomly to read a sentence--one for each student. I spent the afternoon remaking the spongebob PPT into a read aloud story. Re-edit: Except that I re-made the Spongebob story for Chapter 2. I've comprehensively confused myself by working on too many lessons at once.

I'll post the correct story, about Smurfs going to school, below.

Here is a read aloud story about the first day of school in Smurf Village. I have each student take a turn reading aloud, but you can use it however you want. You click to advance the slides after each speech bubble or when you see a blue arrow in the bottom right.

At the end, they can practice identiifying how different smurfs are feeling.

I made a worksheet for this lesson. It has vocab, grammar and some other activities. I usually print front to back and have the kids glue it in their english notebooks or textbooks. I give them a vocab and sentence quiz at the end of each chapter/lesson.

Here is a BANG! game I made for the reading part of the lesson. Very simple and the kids love it.
Make a circle and show them the slides. Each student has to read one word until they get to BANG! The student who has to say BANG! has to sit down or is out until the round is over. Keep playing until 1-4 students are left.

This is a GIF heavy file for learning different feelings as I feel the book doesnt really cover the ground that it should. Keep in mind that im not great at powerpoints but i try my best lol

*there are a lot of jim carrey gifs as I found his humor and faces delightful

**the gif for angry shows an angry faced Jim shooting a gun so you may want to change it if your co teacher has an issue with it.

Yes! Here you go:) Just open the zip file, and all the lesson guides should be in there- in English! Also, when you click on one of the files, and it opens up as an hwp file, my computer asks something before it opens. I just hit yes, and it comes up:)

Here is a catch the sentence PPT I made for a review before period 4- the reading lesson. I borrowed some things from other PPTs, so thanks to the original posters.

Also, a Brilliant Brains Blazing pens PPT to use in place of the writing game for period 5 of this lesson. I got the template off of here last year, so thanks to the OP. I will have students get into teams of four. Each team will get a white board, marker, and eraser. They will take turns writing, and get 1 point for their team if they get the correct answer. I usually let the team members help who ever is writing, because some students have trouble.

Also, I will tell them that they must write the complete sentence, so if there is a capital letter or punctuation, they must have it in their answer, or it will be wrong. But it's up to you how strict you want to be about that;) Students usually love blazing pen games!:)

I made a Saint Patrick's Day theme lesson. At first they learn a bit about Saint Patrick's Day and play Chutes and Ladders. I am using an 8-side spinner for my version.
