Food lesson
« on: March 26, 2015, 10:52:14 AM »
I did a lesson with my first graders, where we chatted about different food from different countries.

They were obsessed with the school lunches from the different countries.

The worksheet is suited to my students. They need the extra writing practice, and I use it to help get them talking.

Thanks for this! This is really well prepared and fits in perfectly with the High School food unit we're starting today. It will be the perfect warm up before we get into the fine details of frying, chopping, steaming and eventually making our own recipe's. Ideally, if any of the recipe's they make are realistic I'll bring in my oven and we'll make it. The students are always saying they're hungry so that should go over well.

I hope your students enjoy the lesson as much as mine did!

I also will get into the recipe lesson soon. I started with restaurants, then moved onto food, next will be recipes!

Thanks so much for this idea! Food is always a good topic.  Here's a video of school lunches around the world to add to it. :-)

Great lesson. I saw these school lunches on the Dailymail website and found it fascinating - hope my students do too. Thank you!

Very well made PPT and worksheet Rafiqua, thanks for sharing!

That school lunch video is great too. I'm going to use it with my middle schoolers.

I love this lesson. I'm gonna simplify the language for my low-level middle school students, but this will work amazingly well, especially the lunch part.
