Here's my lesson for Grade 3 Unit 1, Listen and Speak 1.Self explanatory I think. There's a progression from introducing the topic (talking about plans) to eliciting what tense we use to talk about plans. From here we start with simple future tense, progress into "be going to ~" and then into today's key expressions. I thought this progression would be the easiest way to introduce the language.Plenty of room to elicit from students, and to practice the key expressions. On page one of the worksheet the students will make two simple conversations like the example. Before completing page 2, brainstorm dream vacations as a class. Go over the questions -where, when, who etc and elicit answers from the students. Once you have brainstormed, go back over the questions and elicit the sentence form from the students (Eg. Where -> Where are you planning to go for your vacation? How long -> How long are you planning on going?). Write the questions on the board and have students make answers for them. Then pair the students off and have them ask each other about their vacations. If there is time, have volunteers share their partners travel plans, and award points / candy.
